Production Process

During electrolysis, copper ions in the solution are first to deposit onto the cathode, whereas other base metals with more negative electrode potentials cannot be reduced and remain in the electrolyte. Such base metals are regularly removed through electrolyte purification. As a result, the metallic copper deposited on the cathode exhibits high purity and is referred to as cathode copper or electrolytic copper, often shortened to electrolytic copper.
